About

Jane Miller

I believe that we are all capable of achieving more success in our lives and of feeling much more joy than most of us allow, or believe is possible for us.

Founded in this belief, my chosen line of work is supporting other therapists struggling to be the business person they need to be in order to have a thriving business.

Setting up business alone is one of the biggest challenges we can face.

It’s a time of massive change and personal growth. I feel privileged to be able to help people learn to pace themselves and steer a path through the confusion, and to trust and believe in themselves and their own possibilities.

Where did I begin? Well, my heart has always been in teaching and helping others, which is why I began my training as a teacher specialising in my other great love – art. However, after qualifying, I didn’t go on to teach because I didn’t dare think I could be capable enough.

Over the next 25 years I dedicated myself to family life, supporting my three daughters through the ups and downs of 12 years living as ex-pats, the difficulties of children’s school and separation, as well as acting as prop for my husband in his many demanding work roles. It was an exciting time and I used my teaching skills teaching English, studied alternative therapies for fun and practiced as an artist during that time.

On returning to England it was quite a struggle to settle and to find a job after being away for so long. I only managed to find employment as an Activities Coordinator in an old people’s home, which was personally very rewarding – although most unrewarding financially! I still had hopes of earning my living as an artist but found I just didn’t know how to marry being a business person with being an artist.

My experiences gave me a real insight into the difficulties faced by people re-entering the workplace,

whether after years of unemployment, illness or caring for children or elderly relatives. Having undergone a lot of therapy related to my childhood, I was also fascinated by personal development, and decided to study NLP, Time Line Therapy and hypnosis. I then took a coaching course to extend my skills.  I know well the fits and stops and false starts of setting up business and maintaining the momentum and clarity needed to make it work and to feel worthwhile.

So where do I find myself now? After a lot of false starts, issues with(a sometimes crippling) lack of self-belief and insecurities (any of this sound familiar?) I am now achieving what I want to, steadily building up my business in personal therapy and coaching. I have moved on, from the woman who found it too hard to set up her own business as an artist, I have since formed two business networks and find myself offering the kind of service I would have so benefited from all those years ago.  I can really empathise with my clients. I have learned to use and be thankful for all my experiences as the necessary steps to becoming the person I want to be.

The combination I use, of personal coaching and therapy is a powerful one – we can look forward and work towards a desired future and we can look back and undo some of the knots that tie people into unwanted patterns of behaviour and beliefs and I’d like to offer them to you now.
